Derby's Hauntingly Excellent Range

We have created this collaboration with Derby Uncovered CIC with the new range Hauntingly Excellent Greeting Cards, made by Jade Price Creations and designed by Derby Uncovered CIC.

 

Step into Derby's Hauntingly Excellent Range, where we explore the life and, in some cases, death into some of Derby's most famous and infamous characters. Featuring, murderers, counterfeiters, and highwayman, you can find a spooktacular card celebrating each character, along with the story behind them.

This collection includes:

• Count Dracula: His stage play debut took place in Derby in 1924

• Eleanor Beare: A lethal landlady and poison maker

• Frankenstein: Inspired by a Doctor who often worked in Derby

• George Ashmore: His executed corpse was stolen by graverobbers

• Hannah Bocking: A teenage poisoner and murderess

• Hannah Hewitt: Murdered in a plot led by her husband in 1732

• Joan Waste: Burnt at the stake for her religion in 1556

• John Cotton: Derbyshire's very own serial killer

• John Crossland: Derby's most notorious executioner

• John Lombe: Allegedly assassinated for stealing trade secrets

• Matthew Cocklayne: Gibbeted after his execution in Derby

• Noah Bullock: Derby's ark-building counterfeiter

• PC Joseph Moss: Shot in 1879 whilst upholding the law in Derby

• Richard Thorley: Hanged in 1862 for a horrific murder in Derby

• Thomas Hopkinson: Hanged for the crime of highway robbery

 

Each card comes with a QR code on the back, allowing you to delve deeper into the history of each character and discover the in-depth story behind why they are featured in this collection. We will not be posting the spoiler's here, sorry!
